Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards 2017
Asia’s 50 Best Restaurant awards were held in Bangkok again this year and we are very proud to be back on the list at number 31.
With such an incredible selection of restaurants from all over Asia we are humbled to be in such great company and Bangkok has proven how strong the hospitality sector has become here with a record 9 entries, including 3 new entries and one return, into Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants. Officially the event was over the 20th and the 21st of February 2017 but with so many industry and media in town there were also several unofficial events and celebrations.
The festivities kicked off on the morning of Monday the 20th with the #50 Best Talks at the Mandarin Oriental where all the chefs’ and industry got together to explore Asian food, spices and hospitality. Later that evening it was back for the Chefs’ Feast held at Sala Rim Naam before coming to Eat Me for an after party.
With over 200 chefs’, restaurateurs, media, and industry professionals converging on Eat Me we managed to operate 5 bars over 4 levels of our restaurant and had people partying until the small hours from the street to the roof top. We could not have done it without the support from our amazing sponsors; Brand Connect, Peroni, Bootleggers, Artisan, San Pelligrino, DMHT, G4 wines and Wine Gallery.
Tuesday night was the big night when all was revealed at the W Hotel and a big congratulations to all the restaurants recognized, but especially to our friends here in Bangkok. Congratulations to Bo.Lan (#19) for returning to the top 50, newcomers L’Attelier Robuchon (#40), The House on Sathorn (#36), Le Du (#37) and Suhring (#13). Also for staying on the list for another year Issaya Siamese club (#21), Nahm (#5) and of course Gaggan who has taken the top spot in Asia for a third consecutive year!
The official after party was hosted at The House on Sathorn where everyone was able to have more great food, enjoy a drink and congratulate friends on the freshly announced list for 2017.
From here festivities moved to the unofficial after party at Gaggan’s where the entire soi (lane) was taken over with multiple food stalls, the restaurant turned into a dance club and everyone having an amazing night celebrating together. What better way to wrap up an amazing few days for everyone involved, locally and internationally.
